AH3 Patch12 Water micro freezes.
« on: December 01, 2016, 06:33:02 PM »
DX9\DX11

Water has micro freezes similar to early transition freezes from clouds as they moved and re-rendered.

Other wise this is the solution to the depth perception problems reported from the first go live release of AH3. I set time to 17:00 and dove at the water away from the sun into the darker water. I was able to pull out using visual cues instead of the HUD at 100ft.

So first....GREAT JOB on the visual aspect of the water.  While still featureless above a couple thousand feet, you get enough visual feedback when lower that it is playable.

NOW.....to go with the "micro freeze" reports.......

I don't see the micro freeze, but I do see "twitchs" in the water being drawn/redrawn.  If you watch the video, you will see the water "jump" some as it appears to be redrawn (in a slightly different angle than before)....

I throw the FPS indicator up at the end, and you notice that FPS is constant, aircraft roll is constant, and only the water twitches.

Upload started at 1230 Central, so it will be a few minutes before she is viewable.

Have TrackIR...feels like I have Parkinsons when I fly with it.  So I don't.....

I'll get Rift.....but hard to give up my pretty 4k on my 55" tv right now:)

just slow it right down..
I`ll send you a profile if it would help, its so good to fly with.. and you can enjoy your 4k/55' a little bit more

Just a thought about TrackIR.. have you flipped in to camera view in display

If you have any light sources, windows or just sun reflecting on things..it can take control of your 3 points and the views skip all over the place..
Parkinsons..??

if you reduce the light filter threshold.. you can reduce it ..blinds are good too..
Just a thought..
