Can't recommend anything in special, but your post made me think.
Since your hearing isn't too demanding, why USB? As you may know, an USB headset will add another sound card into your devices. Unless you were thinking about blasting the engines through some 5.1 speaker system and use the headphones for communication only, you'd better disable the Realtek in the BIOS to prevent accidental changes in your sound settings, both in Windows and in AH3.
Another thing I'd avoid a USB headset is that we already have seen and read about power issues when using multiple USB controllers. Someone pointed out that even powered USB hubs don't necessarily solve everything since there's always some power directed through the motherboard USB controllers to each and every device.
