Monitor off/on ---> then white screen

Posted here because it seems more a problem with my hardware setup rather than a game bug.

With AH on-line or off-line.... I'll power off the monitor and go do some chore, when the monitor is turned back on I'll have the white screen.  (Task Manager does NOT say 'AH is not responding'.)

Also, when not running AH, I'll turn the monitor back on and sometimes find open Explorer windows rearranged on the desktop.

When the monitor powers back up I'll hear the <bump-bum> sound of Windows finding a new device.

Windows 7 pro, nvidia GTX 980 Ti, Phillips (plug 'n play) monitor using a digital video port.  All the latest drivers and updates are installed.

Is it I?  Something wrong with my setup?

When u say digital do u mean hdmi?? I would stick to the VGA port that comes with the video card. I think it's VGA or the other one...if you are using hdmi then try and change to a different port.

Using neither HDMI nor VGA, but rather one of the three display ports that I've heard referred to as Digital Video (DV 1, DV 2, DV 3).
