56 victory ace Heinrich "Heinz" Hackler flew this aircraft in late 1944. He spent his entire flying career with Jg 77's Third Gruppe. He was awarded the Knight's Cross in August and was commander of Third Gruppe during Operation Bodenplatte, when he was killed after being hit by AAA while raiding Deurne airfield near Antwerp.
