This game is not about "score" but it does create competition. The fact that scores change every month is a fantastic decision. This gives anyone who wants to scale the charts a real chance. Playing for score is not always in the best interest of the strategy aspect to AH. It's designed to measure performance to total degree of measurements. You have to learn how to utilize each measurement in 1 sortie to maximize those specific categories. Again this is not necessarily in the best interest of taking bases and winning the map, therefore score does not measure total strategy skills and techniques to winning the map, per se. It's a great way to measure personal performance if that is what you are into. I don't think it's right to bash people who achieve high scores, because it does take "skill". It does take a firm understanding of the game play. Some people hate the way other play to achieve it, but war was never fair. In some cases, AH reflects war like no other because of so much unfairness and challenge. Flying and tanking in the best equipment does help and does make it easier. That is true.
I always thought rank was a fun challenge to achieve, and now it reflects in my flying style. I think it's also made me far better at the game and understanding fighter combat situations in the MA. I normally only fly fighters because it's exciting and I don't have time for long bomber and tank missions anymore.
This game is all about how you want to play it, whether you fight for score, or just want to capture bases, or Furball to the extreme and die in crazy fights. It's challenging in every aspect. I think thats what makes AH great.
