What would be required for the following?

Posting a thumbnail, when clicked on would open a small screen that gave you a view of the picture full sized.  From there you can either copy the image or close the screen.

It's a setup they use on the WoWs Forum.

I'm just curious if it's feasible for AH Forum. :headscratch:

Like this thread?: http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,384260.msg5111269.html#msg5111269

When you click the thumbnail it allows you to open the image with your own software and you can do what you want from there.

Every time I click on an image, it opens a new tab with a small box and has me choose from either viewing the image or download it.  I missed the view bit... :o  Sorry bout that one.

This is what I was getting at (image in spoiler):

http://forum.worldofwarships.com/index.php?/topic/111086-texas-save-texas/

When I click on the image, it opens a box that gives me an option to either copy or close.  I was curious if the system you use now is able to do this. :headscratch:

Well, I went that link and could not find any images.  Do you have to be logged in?  That ain't happening.

I get you want our board to act like another board.  Question:  What is the benefit?

I'd like it so when someone clicked on a thumbnail the browser opened the larger image by expanding the post or in a seperate window automatically, rather than the user having to open the image in different software. Its just that I feel a lot of people won't bother to do that.

You can always select your browser application as the program to open the file with, but I'll do some digging on the browser window thingy.

There is a show box at bottom of OP's post you had to click on to show the image, then click on the image itself.  You do not need to be logged in to view it. :aok

*snipped from bottom of OP's post there*
A small reward for all of you that finished reading all this crap
Spoiler-Original Kancolle Texas [Show] <---Click on this over there then click on image.  You do not need to double click. :)

I am curious if this is feasible here or not. :headscratch:  The only benefit that I can see is that it doesn't open a new tab in your browser and brings up that box that asks you if you want to view or save the image.  The down side is if you want to actually save the image, it'll open a new tab in your browser with a full sized image, and you'll need to right click on the image to save it.

IE 11 doesn't seem to like something about the way this board is hosting images.    The 3rd party link Greebo posted appears as it should.  The others do not.    :headscratch:  Is this just me????   (Works in Chrome and Safari just fine.)

Picture would probably be helpful.. :noid

Seems rather klunky to me and I am not sure what you are describing as a problem.  If you do not click on the link, here, you do not get the options dialog, and nothing will open another tab.  If the poster has embedded the image in the post, then you can right-click on it, if you want to save it.

I really am missing what this is supposed to fix.  I do not care to have to punch a button to view an image.  Seems like extra clicks to me, for no reason, especially in the skins forum where I want to see those images.

Seems it does not like PHP streaming an image to it.

Every time on the thumbnails (all of them) in Greebo's updated skins thread; if I L-click, R-click and open in new tab, and R-click and View Image, I get this.  I'm honestly not sure if it's a FF thing, an option that I'm honestly missing or if FF just doesn't like it. :headscratch:

On the WoWs Forum, all I have to do is L-click on an image and I get this.  I am not signed in to do this.

This is what I am trying to point out.  :aok  I am curious how this works and if our forum can do it. :)

I don't know why I didn't just show this outright. :bhead  Would've saved a lot of trouble from the get go.  Sorry about that. :o

IE11's default security settings may not allow for active content to be displayed.  You have to change the setting in the browser.

1. Launch Internet Explorer
2. Navigate to Tools/Internet Options
3. Click on the Advanced tab
4. Scroll down to the Security section and Enable the option entitled “Allow active content to run in files on My Computer”.
5. Apply the change

And it still may not work until you clear the temp/history caches.

Still no luck.   :headscratch:  Thanks for trying.   I know you have enough to deal with as it is.

May just have to switch permanently to Chrome.

Anyone else using IE 11 having this issue?
