Snap Floor View

Sometimes when zooming out on the map my view will snap to the floor of whatever I,m in and the map quickly zooms completely out to the max so I see the entire map. Hitting the 0 key immediately restores my forward view and I can zoom the map back to where I want it without any trouble. This is not anything serious, just a minor annoyance. It may happen only once in every 30 times I zoom out on the map. I know a couple of others have the same thing happen occasionally. Does anyone know what's going on and how to prevent it?

Wonder if that's related to sometimes my trackir suddenly snaps and locks into some view direction off in left field, then eventually goes back to normal tracking. Just that sudden change can trigger a small bit of vertigo because I wasn't mentally prepared.
