Radeon HD4200
« on: January 12, 2017, 05:04:25 PM »
I have an old squaddy that's trying to get back online with us and he's not getting anywhere with a Radeon HD4200, pretty much single digits for frame rates.  Any advice on getting it to run on that card?

The thing I could find was one page that said it had 384 MB ram, which is well under the minimum requirements of 512.

Even with 512 you have to turn off all the eye candy and run the texture size down at 128.

What Fugi said, and further: If the information I found is correct, we're talking about a laptop which means it's an M for mobility rated video card, sharing the v-e-e-e-ery slow DDR2 or DDR3 type memory of the entire system, up to 512 Mb. The HD4200 was the slowest of 15 variations of the series, very limited in performance even back then.

I've got an older system by today's standards that still runs the game well by my standards.

I really see no way for that video card to run Aces High III in a playable manner.  It is just to low a performer.

That's the gfx core processor of the HD 3450/3470 cards. Even as discrete cards these were hardly usable for gaming.
