That dumb green building at the end of the runway
« on: January 12, 2017, 11:40:11 PM »
Are we moving that building or as Waffle said changing the spawn to the paved runway? I ask because we have had 2 updates since Waffle mentioned about moving the spawn.

That building sure is annoying!!!

Seems the prevelance of high alt fields when the Buzzsaw map is up causes this complaint to surface.

If only we had another direction we could take off from in the mean time...

On a serious note, I have no problems with the building at the end of the runway. Nothing a little flaps cant fix.

I've been wondering what people were talking about, but last night I think I saw it - long low hanger thing, vaguely green.  I've had no problem because I don't use auto takeoff, but I can see that if auto takeoff drives you straight into the hanger, there's a problem for newbs.

HTC has indicated that it will fix this, but it's a difficult fix and will take time.

If you're not paying attention you WILL lose a Me262.    :joystick:

Another jet lost to my ignorance!  LOL

Even when you realize finally that it is there, the flaps haven't helped anyone that I am aware of.  On small fields I now roll over to concrete before launching.

But it is really funny to listen to VOX when it is happening to someone else...

Depending on what I'm doing...I will let it auto-takeoff and have no issues...If I have ords I hit a notch of flap and have no issue...If I am upping a 262 I will taxi to bomber runway and takeoff...

I had a terrible experience with a fully loaded 190f8 when AH3 went full live and just couldn't get off the runway...after coming back from my rage quit I calmly figured out how to get over the building...

Now I do on occasion hit the building with my prop still...it really depends on what I'm doing...if I up fast and level too soon especially in a LA I will prang my prop...but a slight turn to left or right avoids it...

Nothing in the game pisses me off more than being vulched, up fast and light...go level...looking around for which of the 10 guys above you is diving in and POOOOOFFF!!!!!!  You hit the building... :bhead

Did that with a tree coming out of the fighter hanger. Got wheels up and though I had more time to look around.

Same here....283 hard earned perk points out the window...and I wasn't on Auto Takeoff. Had figured i would be able to clear it in time.

Hmmm....wondering if HT can credit back those perk points for those of us who got smacked with this! in the future it'd be simpler if we'd just have the 262's spawn off the pavement / longer runways.

Yes, rockets and jets should spawn on the pavement.

If you care for your high perky-plane, do not use auto takeoff.  That's just silly.
Once in the air, by all means, use auto-speed to gain altitude.

That is all.

I really, so far had a problem with trees or buildings at the end of
runways whether using auto t/o or manual t/o. :noid
Maybe I'm not t/o from the right fields.
What fields are causing this supoosed problem?

I launched yesterday and autotakeoff rolled my right wheel onto an ack emplacement.   Crunch.   Crash.    Slide.    Ditch.
