New Asus gaming monitors for 2017

Pretty much my dream monitor.  If only it was 34/35", but I'm sure they'll be coming.  The PG27UQ is amazing, a IPS 27" GSYNC panel, that is not only 4k, but also 144hz.  I have an Acer 28" 4k, but it'll only do 60hz, and have Asus ROG swifts of all description up to the 34", but it's only 100hz and 1440p.

This new UQ line has it ALL.  It'll take a really good GPU or 2 to push 4k to 144, but that's ok, at least the option is there now.  These new Asus UQs are also HDR capable too, the videos I've seen you can sure tell the difference between current ROG monitors and these new 4k HDR ones. 

The only thing not to like is the very odd stand and design, my 27" ROG Swifts have a more...normal, and much better IMO stand and asthetics, my 34" Swift looks like these new ones, with the screwy spiral stair case stand and other goofy looks.  Alas, luckily you look at the screen most of the time at least anyway.

It should Kanth, at the last trade shows where it was demo'd they were running it with a single Titan XP, which the 1080ti should be close with in terms of real world gaming performance for most games.

I'm running a 29 inch 2560 X 1080 LG monitor with a Nvidia 970 no problems.  It is a lot cheaper then a thousand dollars and performs spectacularly.

I get FPS and why that is important and having a 144Hz monitor is good.

 I fly FSO and there is no radar like the MA so dot visual is more important then seeing the art on the enemy plane.....

My question is this, what is the optimum settings to see the dots of the enemy plane when it renders? <-- if that is the right terminology?

I know that years ago I would get a stutter when an enemy plane was visible and would look around to see where it was.

I got a new Alien-ware computer and I am sure it is ok, but I was about to buy a gaming monitor and then saw that the best deal for seeing dots at 10K away was actually a TV with a small number of pixels per inch.

What is the best  TV? Or Gaming monitor?  what size? 1080P?  4K?  720?  obviously a higher refresh rate is better..

Not yet, but as you posted before, that's my optimal wish list panel too.  I'll try the 27, but will immediately trade it for a 34/35" panel.  Can't wait for either of these.  I don't think the PG27UQ 27" variant is going to be out for a few months, probably after the 1080ti comes out is my guess, and it'll be a few months before getting one will be easy, just like when the first 144hz ROG Swift monitors were released. 

I'm guessing summer before I get my hands on one, and I'll have my Titan X and hopefully a couple 1080tis swapped for my current 1080sli cards, to see how 4k@144hz works with games on max detail settings.  Really, really interested in seeing how AH3 will look maxed out, especially with all the beautiful skins guys like Greebo and Devil505, and others, are going to have made for the new version.

You do realize SLI pretty much sucks with AH3?  I assume you are going to do a custom profile and not depend on the supplied NVidia profile?

Has NVidia ever fixed SLI so it could work with vertical sync enabled?

I am still getting approximately 195% scaling with SLI in AH3. Seems to be working just fine with vsync enabled, too. Not sure about Gsync.

Did you do your own profile?  Vsync used to not be supported.  Good to hear they fixed that.

Yes, I think the older Aces High profile is still included with the new drivers (even after I clean my system it is there after installing drivers), and so if you do not create your own profile you got nothing but a useless profile.
