If you go into advanced sounds, change a sound level, then click 'Apply', it will turn all your sound sliders to 0 and swap over to speakers.

Same here, took me a bit to find out what happened to my sounds and mic.

I have been trying to duplicate this, can some one duplicate it, and give a step by step how to? Preferable in offline mode.
