Feedback on New Dar Rings
« on: January 17, 2017, 05:04:28 PM »
Like the look..but it was brought up that shading causes 1) loss of terrain features and 2) loss/mask of enemy icons due to overlapping dar rings.

Possible fix is to just make the dar ring go away when there is no Dar.   Removes clutter...and easy to tell IMO.

Keep the changes coming, appreciate the hard work!

Some think the shading is too dark.   Maybe a slight lightening would also help.

Tremendous improvement overall.

Someone had mentioned making the circle lighter than the terrain, rather than darker.
Would be interesting to compare.

I don't think that would be great, you wouldn't be able to tell when you were about to flash a base or not.  It removes information.  Maybe some would like that idea, but just saying.

Based on that screenshot HT posted if it were me, I'd have it a light grey and when it's down, almost white, with a bit more transparency.  But I'm colorblind so what pops for me may not pop for normal folks.

I find myself turning dar off to get a better view.  Would be nice to be able to map a key to toggle dar, rather than having to use the mouse.

Ok, seeing it in play, I cannot tell the difference between dar being up and dar being down at all.  All it would take to fix it is to make one of them lighter than the other.

What was wrong with the way it was?

I am sure he could give the option for rings or shading.

The shading is an improvement.   A few minor tweaks and it will be golden.

I found it way too cluttered.

I like the new one.  Lighten it up a bit to address complaints.   I love the change.  Major improvement to SA.
