431 Sqn RCAF Lancaster

This Canadian-built Lancaster was flown on operations by 431 Squadron RCAF from December 1944 until the end of the war. The aircraft was named "Ego Offensio" and the nose art represents a devil on a cloud.

While we don't have the Tallboy bomb or modified Lancasters that carried them, the Tirpitz was attacked in Norway during the daylight as well as other "precision" attacks in France after D-Day. While not often, they were used during the daylight especially later in the war after air superiority had been won by the Allies.

They did do daylight raids, and suffered heavy casualties when met by the Luftwaffe, flying in spread out formations.

Since AH decided to equip Lancasters with .50 cal, they do damage. Ive seen one Lancaster with .30 ever in AH.
Its pretty much like LA-7 with 3 guns, existed i very low percentage, and used to 100% in-game.

I was reading a RAF Facebook site where a surviving rear gunner had posted this exact thing. He mentioned the German pilots could stay far enough out that the cannon rounds would shred them and the .30 rounds could not reach the standoff fighters. I think AHIII Lancs have it around the other way from personal experience.
