Where can I find target hardness information?
« on: January 27, 2017, 07:02:56 AM »
I'd like to create a clipboard map that lists target hardness values, to be used when mission planning.

Thanks

You may take a look at the topmost sticky thread in this section.

In game, you find target hardness under options->arena setup->objects->object settings
Hardness is given as fraction (or multiple) of 1,000 lbs bomb.

Ah, thanks Lusche.

The CV is not listed under the Object Settings - how did you find that value?   Also, only 1 type of is "Ship" listed - am I to understand that the Cruisers and Destroyers can withstand an equal amount of damage before sinking?

Ancient lore & testing ;)

Yes, ship hardness and downtimes are identical

Hi Lusche -

I just went online to do some testing, attacked a Vehicle base and each time I killed an Auto Ack, it told me it would be down for 43 minutes.  I went to the object settings and I believe the downtime there says 30 minutes.   Is it not displaying the correct programmed value? I assumed these were the downtime settings assigned by the person who set up the arena.  There aren't any items with a 43 minute downtime listed, however "Structure" is listed at 45 minutes, whatever that is.

The downtimes given in object settings are the basic downtimes. Actual downtime depends on status of the corresponding strat object (AA factory for auto guns) at the moment the object was destroyed. A totally destroyed factory adds 120 minutes to the downtime.

Doh!  Of course, that makes sense.

What are the classes of ships we have in the game?  Are they an Essex-class carrier, Baltimore-class cruiser, and Fletcher-class destroyer?

I created a Target Hardness Chart using the info you compiled Lusche, many thanks.   Posted below for review and comment.   8thJinx's clipboard maps are the new standard and I tried to match his theme as much as possible.

That's very nice, good work!

I thought the cruiser took twice the damage as a destroyer, no?

No, cruisers taks just as little. A fighter with 2x1000lbs bombs will sink it with ease.

Very good work.  Thanks.  I don't think the CV is down for 60 minutes though.
