I wish I had M00ts films of the stuff he did in that thing. It was incredible.

Yep.  Unless the flight model has changed... anyone suggesting the 152 isn't effective at lower alts simply does not know how to fly it.

The TA in the right hands is deadly at any altitude :)

Ive ran into a few guys who can flutter that thing around at lower altitudes and kinda aggravate you with it.

Idk what that guy did in it but the angles he created while at low speed was really nice. He could only make about 1 or 2 before the plane just couldn't do anything else but that's all you need. Best pilot I've ever seen fly that damn thing.

The standard 190 Dora is better at lower altitudes. The 152H is a dedicated high-altitude interceptor and excelles above 25k. But even on the deck it can leave a P-47D-25 behind at will.

And outfight it in the vertical.

Good points predator. The 152 in my opinion will lose the fight on the deck with all flaps out on both planes. Thats obvious. But if you fight the planes fight utilizing the vertical performance it should win.

I wouldn't be so sure on out-turning the 152 in the D-25. With full flaps and 25% fuel the 152 has a smaller turning radius than the 47. It turns faster too.

Full flaps
Plane/fuel/radius/degrees per sec
TA-152-H1 / 25% / 607.5 / 18.9
P47 D-25 / 25% / 640.8 / 15.2

Hmm that's interesting!

It isn't a purse fight I just think it's funny when people think a 152 is easy when most of the community won't fly it because they put it into a flat spin....curious if it's  so lethal at MA alt...why is it not flown more....

The 152 is easy if you go to 10k and just BnZ. Other than one of the hardest to be good in.

There are a lot of better low-alt planes than the 152 and P-47D-25 in the MA.

True but a lot of people...like Relic think it's some sort of monster down low which is just not true. Relic...open challenge to you specifically, show me how good you are in a 152....

P38, F4u, P51, 109, KI84, BREW ect ect ect....same can be said for all of them when it comes to BnZ....

My point, TA152 has a very specific use which it is awesome for and what it was designed for....hunting and killing bombers...it's arguably the best at that....other then that...it's not comparable to other low eny planes for fighter vs fighter other then in the alts nobody goes to other then Chalenge. :D

As far as I can see you're the only person using the word "monster". He said it was "effective", and it is effective at any altitude. Down low it is not as effective as the Tempest or 190 Dora in this scenario, but it is close enough to make it interesting. The P-51D only has a couple of mph on the 152 on the deck, so they are really close, also in climb performance.

In this scenario I rank the fighters:

Tier 1
Tempest
190D

Tier 2
109K
P-51D
Ta-152

Tier 3
Everything else.

If any one ride really stands out as dominant down low it is the Tempest.
