Opinion on some manned guns in towns.
« on: February 15, 2017, 11:25:05 PM »
Any opinions of some manned guns in town. It will give a little layer of defense to counteract M4's w/rocket pod that bring down town so quickly.

Bad idea. It just gives people more reason to not defend with a plane or gv. The 88s on the field are bad enough.

interesting thought but just gives another reason for some people to not ever leave the safety of their tower with no risk when they die.

If Kills for manned guns get added then  +1.

M4 rocket pods have to be one of the easiest things to kill.

I'm okay with the idea of some manned guns for the town. I thought you do get some attack points for killing them. If not, then that should be a pretty easy fix. As for giving people a reason to not up a plane or GV, both manned and unmanned gun are about the easiest thing in the game to kill, so it's a short-lived dodge.

Some of the bases with the mega towns on the crater map already do have manned 17 LBS.

When a gun counts and a player to player kill, maybe.

As mentioned above though.. its another easy out for base defense which will lead to less air to air/tank action.

We need fewer ground guns, not more.

When the town flashes, go there in a tank.

I think guns should be the last possible choice to a plane, GV or boat. -1

The mega base (and only the mega base) has a grand total of one 17 lber in town.  It is entirely and irretrievably useless.  Because it is elevated and can't shoot downwards, and because it is surrounded by buildings and trees, it has no shot on anything.  OK, not entirely true, over its 360 degree FOV it has a shot on a tank in maybe a total of 10 degrees, but only if the tank is far enough away that you don't have to depress the gun (it has a tiny negative angle of depression).

What does matter to you if they don't defend it or no one has seen the base flashing or no one is available to defend it.
The manned guns are a added dynamic of the game. Learn to deack and you will get a possible further reaction.

Forget the M4.

I'm horrible in manned guns, I'm just suggestion for added dynamic to the game and a thin layer of defense in towns.  (Manned mixed with autos)

I don't think you should be concern if someone just sits in tower and not defend it. So what. How would you know at the time. Take the base and make them learn their lesson and move on.

I would agree with you that kills for manned guns its an interesting idea that needs further discussion on a separate post.

I am torn on this one.  I do a lot of base capture and base defense.  Setting horde attacks aside, the time you have to capture a town after WF is measured in seconds to just a few minutes during prime time.  In AH2 you had to fly or drive to a town to see the color of the flag.  Now it is displayed at the airport which I like and on the down time list.

I have to vote 0 on this one being neither for or against the wish.
