CH "unknown device" removal and starting fresh
« on: March 24, 2017, 07:36:08 PM »
So in getting nowhere with my controller mapping issues after several frustrating hours (aside from the realization they aren't related to the track IR, but likely my swapping all of my USB ports around) I decided to start fresh... I uninstalled AH, uninstalled all of my USB devices and CH controllers (Combatstick, Pedals, ThrotQad), ran CH Delete, and uninstalled the CH Control Manager (V4.55a on my Win 10-64 machine) via program uninstall. The uninstallation wizard for the Control Manager got hung up and crashed, but the icons for the program disappeared. I then rebooted without plugging any other USB devices in but keyboard and mouse.

Low and behold, there is now a seemingly undeletable CH "Unknown Device" that keeps coming up in device manager no matter how many times I try to manually delete it from within device manager or "connected devices" and reboot.  :bhead The device instance path is CHPRODUCTS\VID_068E&PID_C020\1&1A590E2C&0&0000 and the Hardware Ids is CHProducts\VID_068E&PID_C020

Does anyone know how I can delete this "device" permanently so I can actually begin resetting up my controllers and AH? I'm screwed until I figure this out, so I appreciate any suggestions.  :salute

Nevermind. Total reinstall of everything, including CH Manager enabled me to either get rid of or correctly assign that unknown CH device, so I have my controllers back, and even got everything going with TrackIR.  Hence, problem solved, and if the mods want to delete this thread I will not be offended.  :salute
