A new theory has been brought to my attention on this subject. The 20th Century ushered an explosion of individuals that captured the attention of the every day person. Mass media coupled with faster and faster means of communication generated celebrities, billionaires, and now the common man with their 15 minutes of fame.
The theory is that possibly thousands of years in the future. Human civilization became so utopian that boredom became prevalent. Scientists of the future developed time travel. All the rich and famous people we know the last 70 years are time travelers who needed to be important.
In the future, war and disease and poverty are eliminated. No monetary system exists. An individual can do anything or nothing. Time travelers are so caught up with the idea of materialism it has become an epidemic.
Write, email, or Facebook your favorite celebrity or rich billionaire and tell them, "Been fun, but you need to go back home. And, don't forget to turn your financial assets over to me."
