Regarding your rounds exploding on leaves or tiny branches: look more carefully.  This is a bug I reported long ago in the beta.  If you hit the trunk or a thick branch the round will blow up and stop there.  However, if you "hit" leaves or thin branches, the round will appear to explode with a graphic burst, but if you watch closely the round actually continues on towards your target and explodes there.  I have killed many a tank with a round that appeared to be stopped by leaves.

Have seen this and can confirm sticky branches...

I was talking about the secondary topic of supposedly not being able to shoot through leaves, not your tank itself being stuck to a branch.
