TM...need...help...
« on: May 21, 2000, 08:01:00 AM »
Ok here I go again...after some fighting with my computer   I've managed to make my TM FCLS+TQS+Elite work...more or less...I still have some problems and I need some help from TM experts (mino??)

-1: I configure the stick in windows as a 3 axix 2 button thing with rudders attached. Then I calibrate it but the rudders dont seem to calibrate well (dont ask me why, with my Virtual Pilot CH yoke they work just fine).

-2: I have no F"$·%ing idea on how to make a file for Aces HIgh...nor for Falcon 4 nor for Flanker 2...Its simply that I have readed the Fox Two instructions 3 times in a row...and I still dont understand a s$$t...

If someone uses my configuration and have some files that can help me PLEASE send them to me, my mail is ebringas@airtel.net

thanks in advance

head over to the TM site and go through thier download library.  Look for a file called EZBuild.  It's a shareware program that will help you build adv, b50, or m50 files for your TM gear.  It also a pretty decent help file that reads a little better than the TM book

been there. done that---I. finally, have designed a file to download and play aces high with it...

now the problem is that in "run" mode, the FLCS shows NO RESPONSE to the RIGHT!!!!

Well in fact it shows it, but only in "download" mode. In that mode the stick works just fine when calibrated...but as soon as I try to put it on "run" mode, there is NO way to make the stick "read" to the right

What really pisses me is that everything else is wonderful I nearly have it done...but if I cant bank to the right I'll be a easy meal!!!

someone knows why happens it?...I DONT WANT TO RETURN TO MY CH VIRTUAL PILOT YOKE!!!!

If it works in the download position, then the stick is probably working just fine.  Maybe there's something in your Aces file that's making it go funky...do you have JSX or JSY programmed in that file at all?  Try downloading a different file to the stick (one that came with it), and see if that results in the same lack of responce to the right.

One very helpful file you may want to download is CTFJ (Center The squealing Joystick).  You run it after you calibrate your controllers in Win9x and it makes sure that the stick and rudders have an accurate center value in windoze.  It's freeware at http://www.stickworks.com

Is your stick the F22 or F16 FLCS? I use a F22, TQS, and Elite system with no problems. But I calibrate my F22 as a '3 axis-4 button' stick. I don't know if that would make a difference.

Have you tried using the F22 file that comes with AH?

You might try posting this problem here:

It is a F16 FLCS...so no use in put the f22 files

I tried the CTFJ program...same story going on

I am thinking seriously in quitting AH until I save enuf money to buy a working set of stick/throttle. I wont go back to my fuking yoke

Did you try downloading a different B50 file to see if it results in the same lack of responce to the right when in the run position?  Are you calibrating the stick from within the FLCS software? (you shouldn't be).

My FLCS became unplayable due to spiking in the "Run Mode", but was often very smooth in "Download Mode".

Eventually it got to the point that what ever mode I was in it would spike.  I never solved that problem.

I would however recommend "Bob Church's Digital Upgrade Chip".  I am now rock solid as a USB stick.  Well worth the $50 investment for TM users.

Completely agreed - I'm using the digital chips with my F22 & TQS and wouldn't ever want to go back.

Yep I have it configured as 3 axis 2 button, with rudders. but If I try to configure it in run mode I have just the same problem. Right stick deflection shows little,or no, effect.

I tried the B50cal, calibrated FLCS and tqs and rudders there. With rudder and TQS all is just fine. FLCS configures well...or that seems. when I hit TMS.exe, I see clearly that right deflection makes the stick go only to the first mark to the right, while left deflection makes the thing go full left.

All this in run mode...in download mode calibration and response is just fine...but in download mode I cant use any of the hats, buttons...

Tested all *.b50 files I have. No answer at all...

I cant afford 50$, and I cant afford, too, the tax problems it will mean to try importing anything from other country not in europe....so the chips arent a choice.

thanks for help. I feel really pissed,so I wont fly anymore until I have a real stick not that toejam of yoke. I am simply tired of outmaneouvering bouncing cons so I get a snapshot...a snapshot that I cant use for my advantage cause I have no hands to fire!!!!! right now I am using keys for everything but for fire weapons and autotrim in angle. All visual seeking is done by keyboard...as flaps using, WEP engaging and anything else (but throttle, the yoke has a little thrust stick)...so in a snapshot with one hand I am pulling the yoke and with the other I am seeking the con visually...so I cant press the trigger!

tired of this. I'm done. I wont fly anymore until I can FLY! not write.
