Odd question about GPU fans.
« on: March 21, 2017, 01:23:13 AM »
While checking one of my case fans that became unplugged, I noticed that only one of my 2 GPU fans was running. (Running MSI Geforce 970, about a year old) Is it normal for it to only run 1 fan every so often or is it a driver bug? I know the fan works as I restarted the system and both spin up and run when under load but I was just curious.

Not sure about your particular card but my MSI card's fans don't spin up at all until the GPU temp hits 60c. Could be a feature of the card. Saves fan life.

Yeah mine does that as well, they'll spin up at start and then stop when the card is idling. I can plan some old games without them even turning but on the newer stuff they'll spin up shortly after the game starts.
