THIS EVENT IS TONIGHT!!! - PLEASE ATTEND!!!

The 49th FG has taken it upon ourselves to conduct this ceremony for the Devil Dogs and the AH community in remembrance of ET37.  We have unfortunately done this a few times in the past, and it is never fun, however it is necessary and honorable to do.  We would like to ask that if you attend you be respectful of what is going on and keep the chatter to a minimum.  There is a process and framework we will follow.  This will include some static displays, a flyover, and an honor guard among other things.  There will also be a period for you to speak in memory of ET37.  WE STILL NEED VOLUNTEERS for some of these positions!!!  If you are interested in being a participant feel free to call me at 256-653-3972 or be there 30 min prior to the service (7:30 EST).  If you are an attendee, please be there 15 min prior (7:45 EST).  The VOX Channel for the service will be 149 and we request that you not use range transmissions at all.  If you need to speak with someone please use a PM or the Country chat buffer.

Very Respectfully,
49MERLIN

49'rs thanks for the memorial I had to leave cause the computer completely froze up and nothing couldn't hear the eulogy or anything. Greatly appreciated Guys. Guess too many folks there caused the frame freeze.

Dang I got tied up and ran in late, then my computer froze trying to get out on the runway with everyone. Watched the salute and missing man flyover from the tower, very honoring and thorough tribute to his memory. Will love to see some complete footage later.

I flew some of his large strategic raids. He would pass the time by pointing out some facts about the B-29 and other trivia. Sometimes he'd give a complete prep talk before a mission as if he was giving orders to his flight crew.

I had to listen from the tower because of the screen lockup. It was a very nicely done service.

If any one has the service recorded from the beginning at A37 send the AH film file to (the49thfg@gmail.com) , I was in one of the B29's flying and was not always close enough for my filming to capture every thing. Thank You in advance

I am so sorry to have missed this!  I had every intention of going as he was a great guy and I always enjoyed his bombing missions.  Unfortunately, I had been away at an Elite: Dangerous convention all weekend and was so exhausted last night I was unable to stay up late.  Looks like it went well and I'm really sad to have missed it.

Well done.

ET had to be looking out his plane's window with a tear of pride in his eye as the 49'ers put on the memorial service then lead the massive B17 strike in the MA.

It was nicely done. I got there late and upped a K4 for support.

A lot of the members who passed were mentioned in the texts. Everyone showed a lot of class, as did ET.

For the Devil Dawg squadron that I believe ET was XO.
Sorry I didn't make the memorial flight. As is my habit,
I just plain forgot  :cry
