Not sure where to put this so sorry if it falls into another section

but a new player I was talking to was telling me about this...he was using it on a low spec onboard intel graphics lappy...he was full graphics 59 framerate... he was having an issue with dropping out every 20mins or so but said it was due to be patched today to rectify the issue... It seems like a pretty cool thing but I am not computer savvy so thought you guys could filter through the flashy stuff and work out its worth

Has anyone heard of this?  could be an option for those that couldn't upgrade... initially it is free as it is in beta... and then priced plans

I suppose its doable, but I would think the input lag would be horrendous.  You are basically renting a computer somewhere in the world.  You are then streaming its output to your screen as if it was a video on the web.  Instead of having instant response to your commands it has to go over the net.

This turned me off right here

SkyCredits are a virtual currency that can be purchased or earned by watching ads. Redeem SkyCredits for access to your SkyComputer where you can download and play any game you want.
On the Gamer Performance package, 1 SkyCredit = 1 minute of access.

So if you run out of these credits, you instantly lose access

Thats only if you want to use it free, they are a paid service where you get credits per month, though at $10/month it appears you would run out of credits in 10 hours with their top end virtual machine.  I'd imagine they would have an auto top-up option so they can drain the bank accounts without you realizing.

And keep in mind that you are charged for every minute that your sky computer is on. So just to download the game is going to cost you skycredits.

I also cant find the price on SkyCredits.

You'd be better off taking the money you would spend on liquidsky and getting physical computer put on a payment plan.

Finally found some prices. It looks like the prices are unclear as they just updated their plans. The free plan is free but you have to watch ads to get credits. Or you can buy credits at $0.50 per credit. There is still a lot that is unclear and not stated in the prices.

I'd stick with upgrading a personal computer versus this.

The input lag would be quite horrible.  You'd also be at the mercy of the Internet.  Let's see how much we can clusterup this mess.

I am at home (Texas), sending an input to a server in Chicago (not sure if that is where they are), which is a path losing packets like no tomorrow, which is then sending my input to a server in Texas so it can send it back to Chicago so it can send it back to me.

The first player calling me and complaining about lag, while using this service, is going to get the "Numpty of Year" award.

That is the very reason I thought to put it here..for the guys more conversant with pc...all sounds like a good idea from the outside sometimes... the pricing thing was something I thought about before posting...but as with all cloud based things...the prices drop fast as other's jump on the band wagon...

Quick google raises questions around controller inputs. Looks like it might be a keyboard/mouse only situation.
