More Options For Fuel Loads
« on: April 06, 2017, 12:32:17 PM »
I would love to see a slider for fuel load that's adjustable one percent at a time, or ten percent at a time.   Twenty percent works, too.  Five fuel drums instead of four would accomplish that.

There are times I want 80%/90%/95% not 100% or 75%.   Would be awesome to have the flexibility.

You could just take 75% and a drop tank. Just ditch the tank after a few minutes.  :)

Intel i7 5820k, Win7 64-bit
NVidia GTX 970 4Gb ACX 2.0

I don't want the drag, generally speaking.

There are times also, depending on how far the fight is--where I want more in my Auxiliary Tank than I get at 75% but less than 100%--along with drop tanks (or not).  It would be a nice option to have.

It would be nice to be able to at least specify the 25-50-75-100% option for each fuel tank in the plane.  There are some rides I'd love to be able to just fill the wing tanks and leave everything else empty, or fill all but the aux tank, etc.

Did they even use partial fuel loads during WW2? I thought they always just topped them off.

Depended on the mission. If you were planning an attack, perhaps, but generally speaking they were usually full "just in case" or defense reasons like the Luftwaffe.

Depended on the mission and aircraft.   Example...

It was common for P-51s to be fueled on less-than-max range missions so they arrived on scene with less than X gallons of fuel in the Aux Tank (the exact percentage/amount escapes me) for the obvious CG issues involved.
