Hangar noises
« on: April 08, 2017, 02:12:57 PM »
What is it they're building in the hangar, and when will they ever be finished?

Thanks!

One of the noises reminds me of someone replacing a man hole cover.
Silence tells me secretly everything.

They are using a saw for some purpose.  Anyway, I find the sounds annoying. I would suggest, delete them or change to something else.

Would they be less annoying if they were lowered volume, and maybe less noticeable? (for example the dragging and clang of some metal object is pretty noticeable)  Maybe include some muffled voices, or medium-distance airplane flyby, maybe a truck or jeep driving past the hangar?

Best option I think would be to have the volume for this effect settable by the player.

I wonder where the soundpack guys went?   Mitsu, TwinBoom, Ranger, and I'm sure I'm forgetting somebody great.

Clipboard>Preferences>Game Sounds>Advanced: The Environment slider controls the "ambient workshop sounds".

As for the soundpack guys, I've read somewhere that at least some of them are working on new packs. However, that is not as simple as it was for AH1 and 2 where you could use any .wav file for any sound. We used to do personalized check-six messages for each other, all you needed was the headset microphone and the built-in Windows Sound Recorder. FMOD is much more complicated, as you can read in http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,377219.msg5023772.html#msg5023772. Getting the start music changed was so much of an effort that I didn't feel like redoing it when it changed back to the original by the transition to the final version.

The hangar noises don't bother me at all. Leave 'em alone.

its weird how some one doing nothing is so annoying, but it is.  Keep the hanger sounds and delete cybro.

Ideas for new hanger sounds :)

1. Raccoon making noise then running into something that knocks over a bunch of stuff.

2. The birds from this years Masters tournament in Augusta, GA. (Go Sergio!)

3. Some type of interrogation noise in the background consisting of people yelling both demanding answers and a single voice pleading for their life.

4. Forward operating bases have distant artillery booms in the background :devil

Just for fun
