Modded Asus MG279Q Drivers Gives 144Hz FreeSynch
« on: April 13, 2017, 08:11:39 AM »
Hi All,

If anyone is interested, I have ran across a modded driver for the Asus MG279Q FreeSynch 27" Gaming monitor that will allow this monitor to exceed the old 90Hz FreeSynch limit and go the full 144Hz range w\ FreeSynch (60-144 to be exact).

With me using the AMD Crimson 17.4.1 drivers w\ my FuryX vid card (which have the AMD FreeSynch low frame rate compensation coding included along w\ the new AMD FreeSynch2 coding as well) w\ these modded monitor drivers my FuryX vid card can now run AHIII at full 144 FPS using FreeSynch at stock GPU\mem clocks @ 1050\500 (verified thru the MG279Q's panel OSD while running AHIII @ 2560 x 1440; also verified thru the AHIII HUD w\o lowering any current graphics setting changes either in-game or the AMD drivers).

MSI GPU frametime graphs show this FuryX clicking along at 7.92 ms in a pretty flat line.

 :aok

Can't wait to see what Vega's gonna bring to the table...............

Yep, it's getting better & better over in Pudgieland!

 :D

Modded Asus MG279Q monitor drivers can be found here (the 1 you want is the 60-144 mod):

Currently am uploading the video to YouTube to post that corresponds to the MSI AB graphs that will have the Gigabyte 3D OSD overlay showing all my box's vitals along w\ the FPS.............

Will link it to a post when it finishes..............

It "works", but when clicking the Play button it says "This video is private".

I've got an older system by today's standards that still runs the game well by my standards.

May need to send a message to Gigabyte to let them know that this kind of stuff doesn't project kindly towards their brand image....................
