It would seem to make sense though: Earn perks fighting, and then use said perks to buy V2s that fly on their own. And maybe automated supply trucks, too. With such system, fighting (well, winning fights) would actually help the war effort a lot more than it does today.

I don't think I would even want individual soldier control.  I would rather control an infantry unit - similar to how Close Combat is played.
