If they're so little, how do you not miss them? We're not talking about going around a giant sequoia.

its not one or two its a whole cluster of them, you can drive through them slow as long as you don't catch a teeny weeny branch. Besides they are smaller than the bamboo poles we drive through.

They did not have dedicated map makers generating the terrain on which you fight in WWII.

So just make a note and move on, especially if you're not willing to work on the editor process to assist in solving these challenges.  We have like a hand full of the community who tries to create new maps for us because HTC and co has not been churning out new maps like they are candy corn since the update.

Yeah, it is painful to attempt to drive vehicles any distance on the some of the new maps... ... and I hate Lemons... :devil

Personally, I'd rather see the lumberjacks work on the trees at the ends of runways as opposed to going all fruity and attacking the Lemon/Orange trees.

I agree for the most part.  It is of course the absurdity of a tree that small stopping a tank.  I have orange and lemon trees.  When they are that size, my pickup truck could, with a small, running start, drive over them.  Bigger, older trees could be a problem for a tank.

That being said, as a barrier, maze, and good hiding spot, they do offer a nice touch to GV action.  It is the cross country trips that really piss you off when they snag you.

Ok you are on a Pacific tile set. Hitech can set trees and bushes to collide or pass you through. Bushes and the bamboo for that tile set I've tested, and they are pass through. I think Hitech mentioned that he sets the collision mesh for trees 4ft out from the trunk. I suppose it's a global setting for all trees over a certain size and other plants he tags as pass through. Are those citrus trees leaf canopy about 8ft in diameter?

No, they are just about the same height as an M3.

Trees about the size in the game would have about a 3-4" diameter trunk

Randy it's the collision mask which is the same size across all trees Hitech tags it to. If the citrus tree branch tips are stopping you, then the total diameter of the citrus tree canopy fits inside of the collision mesh. Think circle inside of a square.

I get that there are constraints with it being a computer game and all but i think it is still an area that would make the game feel a little more real. The sad fact is that if you did have trees that didn't feel gamey no one would notice and it would be taken for granted. At least now your rounds go through the leaves, I can't quite tell if it alters the trajectory or not but it is a nice feature.

I wish that the weird cactus rubble field wasn't so drastic, with my settings I can't even see it but it comes off more as an annoyance than as a challenge or strategy modifier. Let me rephrase that: it is a fun killer.

One interesting point we have not thought about.  Lemon trees and some orange trees have 1"-3" needle like thorns.  They can go right through a leather glove.  In the command position you would not want to drive through any of these branches.

Ouch!

I would be cool if there were random hornet nests that would fall into the careless Wirb who bumped the tree he was hiding under.   :D
