did not know that , but really why ? I mean custom skins would a lot of personalization to the game.

A quick search found this:

Our intent is to have skins, which were actually deployed in battle are used in the game.  Now, we have some made exceptions, but it is something we take on a case-by-case basis.

We are not going to try and cover every little nuance in the rules.  When in doubt, just ask us.  There will always be gray areas.

Yeah, but the "ZZ Top" logo, over the wings of a B29, would rock!   Wait,..can't do that, then we would be in trademark violation.  Dang it!

Also, OP, even if something historically accurate with only a nose art change were allowed...   Given the number of players here fairness would require hundreds of skin slots per airplane.   It would get out of hand.

And this is relatively tame. Play any game in the last 5 years that allowed for custom emblem creation and you'll see that a majority of the "art" was either a swastika or a dick.
