Making AVIs out of films
« on: May 06, 2017, 05:55:23 PM »
Can anyone point me to or post on how to save a selection of film as an AVI, with external view, at high resolution, with audio?

Thanks!

Use the shot tool.   :aok

Load the film in the film viewer then pause it.

Move the point of view where you want it with the arrow keys and page up/down.

Press F8 so you can use the keypad to rotate your view to what you want to see.

Open the shot tool.

Select the shot type you want. Probably Plane Relative or World Pointing.

Grab all for starting camera and ending camera.

Set duration in ending camera, film time in seconds.

Play shot to see if it's what you want. If it is, save as AVI using the multi-file option.

Heya FLS -

A little more advice please - how do I set exterior plane mode? Do I do it in the set up shots UI, or on the main film player?

When I set exterior shot, or world view, the plan is too far away and I can't zoom into the action.

When you're in the cockpit zoom in as far as you can then go to F5, you'll find you've increased the F5 zoom.

if you use the shot tool set FOV to 5 for max zoom. Or move the point of view closer.

Here's an older video with "F5" and "world pointing" versions. If you use "world pointing" it's a fixed camera position so you either have to keep flying near it or keep moving it.

Thank you!

I want to show the POV of me lining up on a kill, but switch views to the target once I open fire.

You might also try padlock with the cockpit view and F4 view.
