I've seen it before. No big deal, really. Presents a good chance to vulch the vulchers but then the bombers come over high. If they'd raise the ack lethality it would make it a bit more even.

Lol, I guess that's why, as vf-17 was sitting on the runway at 107, waiting for all our party to land, making sure all made it back safe, back slapping and generally jollying it up, when all of a sudden the air raid siren goes off. We were all like "wth!?" Was pretty funny. Someone crashed our little impromptu party.

There is no specific rule against vulching in FSO.
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

Too late to begin. I was pilot wounded by a strafing axis plane on the rearm pad a couple of years ago. During the "Leaning Into France" operations it was even announced that the Luftwobbles could cross the channel and vulch. I was bounced at take off after rearming my Spit 1 and managed to shoot down a 109F before cfit-ing.

I've actually heard that some squads fly cap while others land at front line bases. And some split up so part fly cap while the rest of their squad lands.

And to show you what an old softy I am - I told my guys not to the vulch the F4U and the F4F that were clearly landing.  (I did have to tell one guy twice and he didn't do it, but he did spray a couple bbs just to show what a sport he was.)

It might be considered poor form but there is no rule against it.

There are some who consider it poor form to shoot chutes too.

I couldn't care less but I note the logs have me doing just that last week.  The logs aren't perfect.  I didn't shoot seighin's chute.  I did however take his outer wing off and after following him down in his spin simply let him go.  I thought "his arm is going to hurt like buggery trying to get that home".

I get really really tired of selective realism disguised as a desire to make bombers easier to kill.

I have no issue with this. In FSO I feel that once you die, you're out and if you're in the chute, you can provide intel.  Want to help, join a plane. If I see a chute, boom.

Well, there is a Rule against that . . .  No chutes in FSO.
