Hitech already say some time ago that info like this would mostly be.... "we wrote more code this week" or "we tested more code this week"
Most things in the game take a lot of time to put together. Look at Bustr's reports on his map making. Weekly reports would change very little from week to week.
Then you have the "I want it now" crowd. Let out info like "we are working on an updated texture/skin for the Tempest" and they will have hundreds of posts "Is it ready yet?" "when are we going to see it?""Can you post some screen shot teasers?". And when those hundreds of questions go unanswered thing of all the ticked of people hammering the boards then!
Then you have the corporate espionage. They aren't going to post stuff that other gaming companies might steal and get the jump on them with.
I really doubt that this will go far.
