Graphical & Flight Model Flap dissonance
« on: May 17, 2017, 03:02:17 PM »
Few years ago I pointed out a graphical bug with the extended position of the Spitfire's flaps. After it was changed I noticed no difference in the flight model. Lately I was wondering with some aircraft's flaps deploying or retracting relatively slowly, how does the visible position correlate to the flight model position? Is it linked in real time, or once you've mashed the flap button do you immediately get the result. Must you wait until the graphical flap has reached position? How about retraction?

I think there is a dissonance between the landing gear deployment. Was wondering if it existed for the flaps?

Flight testing shows deployment of flaps and gear to be instantaneous with the command. The graphical and audio deployment time seems to be a coded delay before the next flap position or gear command.

Similarly with retraction? Thank you.

That's how it looks to me. I don't know how Hitech handles the aerodynamic changes in the code.
