some people like fugi never even bothered to play in there so why is he here bashing those who did but some of us i can think of around 20 names played midwar all the time and we had a blast doing so after mid war was taken away most of the players that was in there did not move to Late war but instead just stopped playing.

my favorite plane to fly is the F6F in todays style game play run at all cost not to die in a fight people just flat out run away real fun chasing ponys and doras around in a hellcat.

my first 3 months of playing this game i was in LW i still had not figured out the flaps every question i would ask someone had a witty reply or just ALT F4 for a help list. i tried out MW and within 3 days i learned more then i had in LW in 3 months good thing i was ready to give it up each and every day with them i was learning more and more until there was not much more to figure out.

i have never even came close to having as good of fights in LW as i have had in MW planes was well matched and over the years the players got almost evenly matched in there and it made nothing but fun

please bring back midwar or a arena with that planes set.

I wasnt "bashing" anyone or anything. I asked a question (why do you want it back?) and stated that right now it would take a few players away from the main arena, and with the numbers as low as they are now we would then have 2 arenas that are unplayable due to low numbers.

I played in the Mid war plenty of times and got HOed and ganged just as much as in LW. So I never stayed very long. Why would I when there is more chance of finding a good fight in the MA due to the numbers being better. I would love to play where there arent a bunch of spits, yaks, and LAs screamin around you all the time. More often than not all I ever found in the MW arena was some group grabbing undefended bases as fast as they could. This group would often switch to the other front to get away from defenders so the base grab could continue.

Hitech has already said that MW isn't coming back so it is a moot point any way.

Can't a player make an arena that matches this?  I thought that was a thing.  :headscratch:

I had a lot of fun in the Mid-War. If someone were to set it up as a custom arena say once or twice a week, I would definitely fly there. One advantage about a custom arena is that it can be set up to promote air combat so you don't have the perk farmers, map rollers and man gun gurus to deal with. You're also more likely to have decent numbers if it's running at set times a few hours per week instead of 24/7. That would also minimize its' impact on player numbers in the LW main.

...did I mention that in a custom arena perks are not required to fly / drive the upper tier machines?

Trap my old friend and foe ... the entire point of a Mid war is to KILL the PERK thing and have rides that are on par.

I totally get what you're saying Rodent, believe me. If the wish is to bring back the mid-war, then the Typhoon and I think one or two other planes were perked in that arena. All I'm saying is that there are ways to achieve pretty much the same thing in a custom arena without folks having to part with their precious perks.

MW had some of the best fights and battles.  Especially when the sides were balanced.

PLEASE bring MW back!!!  It is also a great place for newbs to learn.  Many of us helped them.  Also a great place to improve your skills.

If ya'll want historical early and mid-war match-up's, just fly the AvA for crips sakes.

Always liked the rolling planeset... gets me out of my safe zone and fly other plane.

It helped me out with FSO's and scenario's.

Get yourself out of your safe zone.  Try all the planes, you may find a new favorite.

What about changing the scoring model to have a ew/mw/lw champion where only your points earned in the respective categories count? Might encourage people to try different planes.

If ya'll want historical early and mid-war match-up's, just fly the AvA for crips sakes.

I'll admit that after only one try in AvA I kicked it to the curb years ago ... (PS I did the same thing with liver, Brussels Sprouts and asparagus ... I see no good reason to try something that tasted bad the first time just because someone else liked it).

That said, if I was to go to AvA right now, would I find the F6F available to fly?
