bomber icon is terrible for SBD, TBM, and B5N. It also ruins the ability of a single Mossie B.XVI to pretend to be an FB.VI.

The icon should be FORMATION icon, not a bomber icon.

Not worthless if your FH is down and it's the only thing resembling a fighter available. It's pretty nimble, actually, and will kill a Goon or M3 just fine.

I have literally never seen anyone use the SBD in the MA for that purpose.  A-20, IL2, B25, TBM sure, but never an SBD.  Not saying it can't and isn't done, I've just never experienced it and I spend a lot of time in the game.

Try it sometime, it's quite fun!  The plane doesn't climb, of course, but it turns nice.

Once, long ago, I was taking off from a base when a whole squad came barreling in, flying SBDs as fighters.  It was like a swarm of angry bees.  A fond memory.

One of the most memorable ET37 (earl) missions was a large SBD raid. We were able to hit the ground with most of our bombs and not cause any damage, and then fought the defenders. I came back with two kills, dodging a yak and Ta152 for nearly 20 miles, losing all wingmen till I was saved by friendlies. I was the only one to land his (heavily damaged) SBD.

Ive done it many many many times. Its my goto bird when the hangars are down and now even more so
