Sorry to step on Greebo's post here but............

I keep staring at this screenshot..............

The wing is an improvement.   Really good change.

I think you should copy the pattern for the HORIZONTAL *STAB* to the flaps and ailerons.   The mottling, the NMF, the base layer....all of it.

The tail looks right but the flaps/ailerons don't match it.   Could be an angle thing............

I hope you get what I am saying.

All the bare metal and control surfaces looks blue on my end.

I think that's on purpose, but I agree.

The optimal degree is the question.  Just gotta' tweak it.

There has to be some blue in it.   Then again, your BANSHEE has some of the best NMF I have seen so I will totally defer to your judgment on this one.

Well done FTJR, its a good looking skin and likely to be popular with Aussie players. I'd say that elevator shadow still looks too big though, to my eyes it should be half that size.

Changelog: Implemented Greebo's suggestion with the elevator shadow (too much?), played with the wing colour some more, tried out Vraciu's suggestion on the flaps.

Not really satisfied with the wing colour, ideally i'd like to closer to Fencers updated George Preddy's aircraft, but that effect is elluding me.

What software are you using?

Wing is 180, 182, 194 then pixel blurred slightly and set to 90%.  Oh yeah make sure you got an aluminum wing layout underneath like the fuselage.

Then take a brush like a leaf or some other patter and use random scattering and make a black and white layer each.  Blur that 1 or 2 px then set to 4%.

The wing color in the bottom pic is good I think.

Now maybe take out a TOUCH of the blue in the metal.  The fuselage looks right.  The mottling is nice.   I think that the contrast is too stark now between the paint and the metal though, so you'll have to tweak it.

That's my theory.  Anyone else have a thought?

Yup, i see what you mean, tweak one thing, something else looks strange. I dont want to mess with the spec maps, it took so long to get there.  I'll darken the wing paint

Darkened the wing paint, this shot is a little further away than the previous ones, to me it "looks" about right.
