new patch
« on: May 31, 2017, 05:17:20 PM »
New patch has knocked my frame rate down to 22 when facing the dark clouds. ( somebody is going to say don't face them). I spent over five hundred dollars just to keep playing AH III and that is with everything cut back to minimum. If this continues, I will not be able to play. I guess the people with lot's of money don't care, they can continue to update.

Wrong way to approach this fella. Simply post what is happening to you comparable to what was happening before the update. Ask if anyone else is having the same issue.

You may find others see it too. The powers that be may need to make adjustments.

Shilo,

1. - I to had to spend money to keep playing AH3 and so did others. And $500 is about average and not a sum to look down on. I spent about that and no one will ignore you over it, that's alot of money these days and any other time in the last 30 years of online gaming. Why tell Hitech you are having problems this way instead of posting a bug report or posting in Tech support for Skuzzy?

2. - There are better ways to do this, and I've seen you interact with Skuzzy getting help earlier. A DXDiag report will help, yes that dxdiag thingy everyone wants to see.

3. - I have skin in this cloud issue because I have to create a new weather file for my terrain BowlMA, so I have a vested interest in helping Hitech with feed back.

I've been testing a default cloud system from the new cloud editor of 50milex50mile offline on BowlMA here are some of my results.

1. - This update has improved the clouds and gotten rid of a mid distance dark boarder around each component cloud clump that was put together to form a larger cloud.
2. - The mid distance blurry clouds, then sudden morph into a clearly defined 3D cloud is still there and can be seen in the 5 screen shots.
3. - Testing flying close to the clouds, now I have to touch the cloud surface before loosing any FPS. Once inside with no view to the outside, 12-27FPS, mostly 27FPS. It rapidly recovers into the 50's the closer to the outer boundary of the cloud mass you move.
4. - Flying near the clouds over the center tank island above the complex rock formations did not cause FPS drops like happened with the old cloud engine.

I5 quad core, GTX760, 16G RAM, Win7 64bit.

I see a big white disc with what appears as two crossing gridlines.
I would post a screen shot, but I couldn't find out how when I searched.

I updated and flew a short while last night. Never saw any clouds though. I want to see if I notice any hit. If I do I will post it here too.

I really wish shilo would first thing talk with Skuzzy about things like this, he doesn't bite when you need his help. And I've given him ample opportunity in 15 years to completely remove my kester at times.

Puff clouds are great and would probably work better. But streamline, fill up the whole sky in rows, many didn't really like it.

We have temporarily suspended the clouds.

Can you do this in the UK please, from June to September?

Thank you in advance
