This AAR is from our second sortie against the Allied invasion fleet. Gun cam was inoperable for mission one:
We lifted just South of Sainte-Mère-Église inbound for the invasion fleet. We initally had to avoid a RAF Mossie hanging around our field. We lifted off to the East, climbing towards the Northwest. After about fifteen minutes of flight time we found the fleet.
I spotted the fleet first, so I rolled in on the trailing destroyer
Direct hit!!
We turned West for home, and after two minutes of skimming the waves I spotted a formation of enemy bombers on the deck. BLBird and I turned into to engage.
We focused on the trailer, and closed in.
The killing blow.
There goes his tail.
We turned for home and landed safely.
I claimed one ship destroyed in the first raid, and one B-25.
BLBird destroyed at least two ships.
