Skin selection

On the clipboard, under the default skin, several of the skins are red and unselectable.  What does that mean?

It means you don't have the file for that skin. If you have auto dl of skins disabled you have to manually dl the skin from AH here: http://www.hitechcreations.com/downloads/downloads-skins

Thanks Sik!  I do have auto download selected but, still have random planes with red showing.

On a new game installation it takes a while to get all the skins. That's so the download while you play doesn't interfere with playing.

Yeah that's my case, new installation.  Just thought it was odd that one plane (don't recall which one) had a couple of the long list in white with the rest in red.  The two white ones were not in sequence but, scattered amongst the red.  No big deal.  Just curious.

If you get the "resumed downloading skins message" when you log on you should be all set. If not, just download them manually as Sik1 suggested.

I've had that thing turned on and it got past th efirst P51 sking then started a C47 skin and "nothing". Guess I'll log in, make a list of red skin names, then manually download them.

Does anyone know if the skins download in groups or one at a time?  I frequently see 2,3, or 4 listed in the text buffer and have wondered how they are delivered.

I think they download one at a time in the order that they were completed.

Skuzzy, having to re-download a lot of skins lately a thought occurred to me. Can we have an "X" box in the hangar that says "download these skins first"?

Just to give priority to the ride we want? And if that plane is done, it'll go back to random or grey out that box or something.

Would that kind of prioritization work?

The quickest way to get a particular skin is to download it from the download page. It may not be worth the effort to create a middle way.

 A Question about direct download of skins from AH Home Page.

 I downloaded all skins from home page. Now, if updates become available for individual planes/vehicles, can you tell in the hanger that a skin is out of date? Should auto update then be enabled? Curious about the process.
