Nice touch on environmental sounds I hadn't noticed before
« on: June 27, 2017, 11:25:49 AM »
Just realized the environmental sounds change with time of day.  In the morning you get roosters crowing, dogs barking - daytime is mostly birds chirping, and at night, the crickets come out and you can here the occasional hoot owl.

Nicely done!

After you bail out, you can hear the wind blowing, and gusting when you are on the ground. Also you can hear seagulls when stopped in a PT boat.

The fidelity to realism is getting to the point where it's a pleasure to fly around on a nice day, or talk a walk through the town.

.... or talk a walk through the town.

Imagining the off-key singing and sounds of drunkards as I stroll by the local pub...

Don't forget the waves when you're close to a beach.

I'm on the intercoastal waterway so those sounds are right outside along with many airplanes flying into WPB (I don't hear any jets where I am but plenty of recips low).

It really adds to the immersion.

In "shadow warrior" I used to park my character near the windchimes and go about my business.

When I park a GV far away, I actually have a plan of action.

Sadly, the new icon system has made it too easy for a shade logged on to see what you're up to and thereby erasing any benefit of being stealthy.

That's why I'm gone.
