Hawker Sea Fury Crash
« on: July 26, 2017, 08:35:00 AM »
I've met this guy before. He has a hangar full of WW2 and Korean War planes. P40 P47 F86 etc.  Both survived the crash. No word yet on if the plane is salvageable.

By the looks of the photos, maybe...but it'll need a complete rebuild - $million$ worth.

Not the first time that airframe has been rebuilt.

Nelson may be in ICU but I've heard his injuries are not dire.

That's the second sea fury in the last 3 years for the company.

Low time (in warbirds)  Ray Hoffman bought one and went down the day of the sale.

This is a pic of a previous accident for that plane.

This is purely anecdotal, but the last 3 warbird crashes have been while the aircraft has reduced throttle for landing, then the engine either stops completely or produces almost no thrust.
Currently ignoring Vraciu as he is a whoopeeed retard.

The Ezell's are some of the nicest people in the industry.  Sad to hear this.
