Time to vote on what our next scenario will be.
A. Rabaul with Marine Corsairs, Navy Hellcats, USAAF B-24's, and B-25H's, and maybe some RAAF P-40N's and maybe P-38's vs. Imperial Japan's Ki-84's, N1K2's, Ki-61's, and Zeros. Many famous US and Japanese aces fought at Rabaul. For good playability, most of the Japanese planes will be the later-war types, even though historically at that time it was mainly Zeros and some Ki-61's. B-24's will be hitting land targets. B-25H's (straffer/75 mm cannon) will be for antishipping and possibly some ground attack. Setup will be influenced by action described in:
B. Midway. F4F's, SBD's, TBM's vs. Zeros, D3A's, and B5N's.
C. Pantelleria with P-38, Spitfire, P-40, B-26, and B-17 vs. Bf 109G, C.2, and Ju 88. This was a fight around Pantelleria (between Sicily and North Africa), involving air combat, bombing land targets, and going after ships. If we need to, because of player numbers, we might focus the allied bomber side into one or the other bomber types, but both is our goal.
These designs are not completed, and the exact details are not finalized. For example, Rabaul above says "maybe P-38's" -- they were there (Bong and McGuire were flying during this time), but we have to make sure we have the player numbers to cover the number of different types of aircraft, and sometimes we have to focus on parts of the battle. We will leave exact details of plane set up to the design process.
Once the theme of the battle is picked, we will move to the phase of design of the setup, with the community being able to see the process and give suggestions.
