Congrats Junky.  :aok

Finding affordable housing that's not a three hour commute from your job is going to be the hard part.

Spent the last 6 or so days trying to find places within 30 minutes...1 Bed, 1 Bath 900 Sqaure ft $1785 a month....YIKES. Luckily I still have my GI Bill and the training to become a certified professional controller at my tower falls under the apprenticship portion so with the Post 9/11 I'll get a housing allowance the first 6-9 months and it will stop when I certify which at that point I'll be making pretty good money...not great for that area but comfortable.

Congrats and best of luck in the new job. You going to make enough to get by in that area?

Got to pay my dues right? :aok

Yeah, unfortunately I wasn't joking. You're looking at moving to one of the most expensive real estate markets in the U.S.

Good luck to you.  :aok

Good work Junky. You're starting a great career. Let me know if there is anything I can help you with as you transition into the FAA.
