Also, for your viewing pleasure, footage of the most-improbable bomber mission I have ever flown in my 30 years of on-line flying.
As Corky pointed out, I owe my survival to 303's, and I also owe it to my trusty last He 111, which unbelievably held together just barely long enough for me to slam it down on the runway, come to a grinding halt, and end sortie.
I was in a running fight from just after bomb drop on a city target, to the English coast, all across the channel, and even over the airfield I was trying to ditch at. Along the way, I collected bullets from CorkyJr, Oboe, Yarbles, Amsoil, Bruv, JimmyC, Dace, AKRaider, and Makayla.
Popsman was my gunner, which allowed us at times to fire at attackers coming in from different directions. Eventually, we ran out of ammo, though, which is a little after where the film starts.
(Apologies to guys on my side for my asking a bunch of times for gunners at 157. With gunfire and other folks talking on the radio, I couldn't hear the replies, and in my state of mortal fear, I wasn't thinking of the obvious -- that there was no way to launch them there outside of a launch window.)
And an external view of the action:
<S> to my RAF foes and to my fallen comrades from KG 76.
