Saw a U-2
« on: August 24, 2017, 09:50:25 AM »
I was driving down the road yesterday after work and in the distance flying almost directly towards me I see these long thin wings, and I think that looks like a U-2.
Now even though I live about 100 miles north of Beale A.F.B and have for some forty years. I have seen one other U-2 in flight, and that was when I was down by Beale visiting friends. Sure enough it was a U-2. He looked like he was on approach to RDD. Which makes no sense at all. I'm guessing he was only about 500 ft agl, when he passed over my truck. Wish I could have taken a picture. They are really cool to see in flight.

We have at least one that makes flights out of Ellington Field.
I believe NASA uses them.
I see it every so often.

What did they play? Was Bono good?     :x :bolt:
Flight Leader: "Bogeys at 2 o'clock!"
Wingman: "Roger, It's 1:30 now, what do I do 'til then?"

Nice. :aok

Did you know that 2 RB-57s were used during the recent eclipse. Didn't know they were still flying.

SIK

I live in Sacramento and they do touch and goes at Mather and McClellan every now and then.

I work right next to Mather so I get to see stuff all the time. The Blue Angles fly right over my work at low alt practicing for the air show. It is pretty cool.
