its going to be difficult but if you vets could post a mission, a real one, like ww2, these noobs can learn more and have fun too.  two 109's, tell the guy to follow you and shoot everything off your tail.  they will be hooked and you get the joy of watching a kid fish.

zack, this is why they wont let you near schools anymore.  :old:

It's the people like Jayro you got to worry about...the receiving end of his higher then everyone F4U is going to be hard for these new guys because hogs are easy....

Put yourself in more risk now for a greater reward later...that reward being 200-300 more folks in the MA consistently at any given time.

Unfortunately there are still squads of 6 to 8 guys.. two flying in 20k 190s picking.. and the rest is yaks spits la7s and n1ks ho'in everything in sight.  Well one squad in particular.. im sure you can guess.

No quarter for those taking off from a capped and de-acked field!

It's the best way to learn.

Other than that, telling the new guys "go to the training arena" is not very welcoming.  Let's reach out and help them in the big arena. If you're telling them to go to the training arena, it should only be because you're going there with them for a session.

Air Raiders...yea and then when it happens to them they send PMs or cry on 200.

EDIT The only one of that squad who I give props to is Silent, he can throw that pony around

Stupid question, but are turkeys really easy to shoot? I'd have thought they'd have started jinking, running and flapping on the first shot.

Real wild turkeys are challenging birds to hunt....Ben Franklin wanted them to be the US national bird over the bald eagle (sorry off topic, but answering shida's question).

They have MADD situational awareness too! If Wild Turkeys had 1/16 the nose of a Whitetail you would never see a turkey :aok

Don't count some of the new players out, I actually managed to find a new player last night that put up a nice little fight that had come from playing IL2.  I took it a little easy on him after noticing he'd get into accelerated stalls while in the turn fight, so I'd let him recover before engaging again.  I'm sure once he gets used to the flight model and controls, the player will surprise a few veteran players.

"Back in my day" hehheh I have to admit when I first started playing this stuff nobody said hey lets take it easy on Pipz he is new! I doubt I would have wanted them to.

My first encounter I was in a slow f6f. I had probably 20 feet on a p51 goin 400 mph that I was about to merge with. I thought oh good I am above him! Guess how that turned out!  :old:  :D  :joystick:

Maybe they should have some type of marker by their Icon showing they are a two weeker. when they subscribe it could be removed.

I have a question, when you meet a enemy plane in the air-fighters or bombers, how do you know they are new? you don't until they are shot down.
I'm all for new players coming in and I help as much as possible, but am I going to feel bad, no. unless I shoot down them down over and over. now saying that, I shot down 1 guy 4 times in 2 days, did feel bad, but then yesterday he changed to Knights, found out he was a returning player from 10 yrs ago-I didn't feel so bad anymore, he was just rusty.

so how do you know who is new?

This. I wonder how similar the flight models are?
