Change text colors

Currently there is no way to manually change the color of text.  If you enter two radio text channels (150 and 163 example) both show up yellow.  It would be nice to change the color of one for quick recognition.

No one else finds this annoying?  Country, Room, Squad, PM and Help all have different colors.  I would like to be able to customize color of tuned numerical text channels.  It would make for easy identification.  Current system is clutter and confusing always being yellow.

I get my channels confused all the time. Would be nice to be able to change colors on your personal radio buffer.

Ues thats what i want. The ability to text locally simce i dont have a mic.

The Purple channel is already used for range text tied to Range vox (F12 key) when flying...and is called room channel text/room vox when you are in the tower/hangar/o'club etc...

Recently, hitech has made local/range vox set to the F11 key for those who are using VR (Oculus Rift, HTC Vive etc....)

So it might possibly change and become system wide soon with F11 working for local/range vox regardless if one is playing using a monitor or if they are flying using a VR unit....

EDIT: hitech is changing it in an upcoming patch from F12 to F11 for local/range vox channel key, because the steam version of AH3 uses F12 for a different command....so hitech posted that he will be moving it from F12 to F11 and he will be making the current F11 command for padlock view to Shift F11

I don't see a need to have optional preference to be able to Change text colors on a whim

Going from memory, there are already 12 to 14 different colored text channels that are programmed in Aces High

What is needed more, IMO, is a 3rd vox channel tied to the .wingman command

Hey Lusche, it is still the same as it has always been

Purple Text Channel is Room Text Channel ( Tower, O'Club, Hangar, etc..) as well as Range Text Channel, for the specific field you're flying from

F12 Vox is Purple name top Right Corner of Screen is Range Vox ( regardless of what field one has taken off from ) and it reaches something like 10.0K to 12.0K yards away ( a lot longer than icon range ).... F12 Vox is also Room Vox and works in the different Rooms  ( tower, O'Club, Hangar etc..) just like the Purple Text does


my 3rd time typing this.......was on my phone earlier and hit wrong key 2 straight times trying to post a much lengther reply.....hehe

the F12 VOX channel Key will most likely be changing in an upcoming patch to F11 because of Steam using F12 for some command.....

hitech has posted that he will be moving F12 Vox to F11 and he will be moving F11 PadLock View to Shift F11

Room and Range ARE NOT THE SAME THING!.
Room is the place and field you are  at.

The places are tower, hangar, brief, debrief, oclub and inflight. Each is a separate room and only talks to those in the room.
 
I never said I would make a change that the the room to be on range, I said if I did anything I would add a text range channel.

Also the F12 and F11 swap was done last version. The change only effects the default, if you had made any changes to key mapping your mapping would stay the same.

TC i had thr same mistaken interpretation as you until it was explained to me a few months ago. Hopefully we get the clarified range text channel added soon!

hitech, I understand it as you have typed it...........which to me looks to be the same except for the inflight F12 (F11) vox channel...

I could be wrong and probably am, but could have sworn that once in flight on the same country, it did not matter what field one had taken off from, they could still talk to each other on Range Vox once in range of one another, but they just could not text to each other on the Purple Text channel

my apologies regarding the switching of F12 to F11, I remember reading about it, but had not realized it had already happened in a previous patch update

So to be clear on the range Vox versus Room text...

Range Vox allows you to talk to anyone who is within a certain range, no matter what field they spawned from; Room text only works between players who spawned from the same field.
