Plane vs Tree

The pilot, 80 years old, is OK.  I often ride by Robertson Airport.

I think we've all done this in game.  :D

That's actually neater than a lot of the parking I see where I live.

Plane looked doomed before touching the tree. Looks like the tree absorbed a ton of energy and set the plane down much more safely than if it had just stalled and crashed.

Also the wing collapsing probably helped the pilot but that spin was nasty.

Looks like he veered off when he saw the car that appears.

Yes, I think you're right............I think he was intending to split the trees at an angle and land exactly where the car appeared.

I think he was barely in control at the start of the video, the roll/yaw to left was spin entry....luckily the tree was there to cushion the impact.  He was nothing more than a passenger.....

Colmbo called it.

Update on the crash, the pilot said he bounced down the runway landing and pulled up for a go around. Flying for 18 years, too low and slow for the turn.

Probably should have started his go around a lot sooner...

I didn't know you lived in Connecticut! We should catch lunch sometime!

I think we've all done this in game.  :D

I've never had a tree (relatively) gently set my aircraft down like that!  How long before this makes the Wishlist?  "Trees are over-modeled!"  :)

Glad that pilot is OK.  Seems to me he was very fortunate.

I saw Plane vs. Tree.   I would love to see the trees' K/D ratio.   :rofl

You just need to hit more trees.   :D

Did you see my Landing the P-38 video?  No tree but similar lucky break.   :aok
