How about a system similar to Rise of Flight, where a ditch awards a kill to the shooter, but the ditcher's score is not credited with a death?

This way the shooter is rewarded for his effort and the defender is awarded for saving his life.

Something like this.  :aok

Real pilots have incentive to ditch in friendly territory. Ditching in enemy territory already awards a kill. Removing the incentive to ditch in friendly territory is gamey.

While we are at it. 

Well if we are going to split hairs.  How about a plane on the friendly runway (concrete) that gets shot (vulched) shouldn't count as a kill?   :joystick:

Personally, I like things the way they are now.

FLS makes a good point.  In real world a captured pilot is removed from active service for the duration of the war.  Ditch where you will not be captured and you are back in service.  AH pretty much duplicates that.
