I have a friend who wants to play AH but he is disabled and has not much money. He wants to pay cash locally for it and this is in stock at bestbuy.  Does anyone know if he will be able to play using this monitor and computer with decent setting? Thanks for help. I have never used a computer with an AMD Processor so I am not sure that this is adequate

That's a stronger set than what I used to have, but weaker than what I'd like to recommend. With some of the most resource intensive settings disabled it should run AH reasonably well, but tougher situations and high polygon locations will most likely occasionally drop the frame rate. There's people playing AH using weaker systems.

From that same list the first one I feel comfortable recommending is https://www.bestbuy.com/site/cybertronpc-palladium-desktop-intel-core-i5-7400-8gb-memory-nvidia-geforce-gtx-1050-ti-1tb-hdd-red/5844400.p?skuId=5844400 but it's  $120 more expensive. Please note that it is just an opinion based on what I'd buy already knowing how AH runs on both a weaker and a stronger system.

I've got an older system by today's standards that still runs the game well by my standards.

As Bizman posted, the Intel CPU equipped PC he linked to is a lot better bang for your buck, it has a much better graphics card and it also has both 3.1 and 3.0 USB ports....

The AMD PC will and can definitely do a good job, but there are no 3.1 nor 3.0 USB ports and the RX460 has 2 GB less of dedicated video ram...

The FX4300 AMD CPU is more than capable, the drawback is the RX460 videocard... (maybe you could barter with BestBuy and have them swap out the RX460 for the GTX1050Ti 4 GB graphics card for just a few extra dollars...if so then go with that, if they won't, then try to get the Intel system)

I've been using an AMD FX4350 B.E. quad-core CPU with an AMD R9 270X OCx2 4 GB graphics card and 32 GB of system ram... Most all my sliders are maxed out except environmental set to 1 (I don't like shadows, so I turn them off)

Using the crimson drivers I lock my fps in at 63, I love the layout/options the crimson drivers give you verses the old AMD style...

Using Windows 10, he might need some tips on disabling certain things like telemetry data gathering processes, etc....

Bottom line - both systems will play AH3 just as they are.... But upgrading the graphics card on the AMD PC would be a good option if possible

Hope this helps

The one you recommended was out of stock and he wants it today. Got an email from someone recommending this one and it is locally available

I saw that too. To my surprise the rx 560 video card doesn't seem to be much better than the rx 460. The Passmark Video Card chart gives them 4300 and 4700 points, the GTX 1050Ti getting 5700. I agree that benchmarks should be taken with a grain of salt, but the difference is quite significant there.

As TC suggested, trying to get BestBuy swap the RX to the GTX for some $50 or less would be a viable option.

If you can't talk them into swapping the RX560 out for the 1050Ti, see if they will swap/upgrade it to the RX580 4 GB graphics card model (this model is VR capable, although it is on the mid/lower end of VR capable video cards)

Good luck

Thanks for the input. He went to BestBuy and bought the one with the AMD FX 560 card in it. He had a hard time paying  that much anything more was out of the question. It did have a better processor in it. He is out of work and disabled. We have kept in touch and flew AW together in the 1990's so I was hoping he would get some enjoyment flying AH. I'm gonna give him my Saitek x55 and CH pedals. I will let yall know how it plays after he gets it set up. I appreciate the feedback.
